Randa Mudathir holds a master’s in Medical Biophysics from Western University. Her research focused on the use of 4D ultrasound imaging in the hand and wrist. She played a key role in optimizing the 4D ultrasound functionality of our ultrasound devices, particularly for the imaging of soft tissue in the hands and wrist.

Megan Hutter is a Doctoral student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Western University. Her research focuses on using 3D ultrasound to investigate the relationship between osteoarthritis and angiogenesis using 3D Doppler ultrasound and Superb Microvascular Imaging techniques.

Carla du Toit is a specialized researcher with a background in integrative biosciences and a medical student at Dalhousie University. She has worked on applying 3D ultrasound hand and knee scanning devices to osteoarthritis treatments and has published work in Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open and in the Journal of Medical Physics.

Dr. Emily Lalone, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Western University. She specializes in upper limb biomechanics, medical imaging techniques and osteoarthritis research. Dr. Lalone brings her knowledge of research project building to manage and test our device iterations in future clinical trials.

Dr. Aaron Fenster, PhD, FRSC, O.Ont, is a Professor of Medical Imaging and Medical Biophysics at Western University with extensive knowledge and experience in medical imaging, specializing in 3D and 4D ultrasound technology. He provides insights on device hardware and software development, imaging analysis and machine learning techniques, and is a four-time founder that has spun off multiple medical device companies.

David is an experienced project manager, with extensive experience in completing regulatory filing for clinical trials and medical device testing. David lends NovaSonix his expertise by aiding in clinical trial research ethics board filings, participant recruitment, and running clinical trials.
Lori is a senior software developer, with an extensive background in computer science. Lori has developed and patented software associated with three-dimensional and four-dimensional ultrasound image acquisition, ultrasound needle guidance, ultrasound biopsy systems, and image-guided, robot-aided software applications for biopsy and surgical procedures.

Jeff is a mechanical engineer, and is highly involved in the manufacturing and testing of the hardware associated with NovaSonix’s technology. Jeff holds a variety of patents associated with various ultrasound-based technologies.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Hand and Upper Limb Centre
Dr. Assaf Kadar is a hand and wrist surgeon, and is part of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre as an Assistant Professor. He also serves as a clinical and academic lead in hand and wrist biomechanics for the HULC bioengineering lab. Dr. Kadar completed multiple fellowships, two of which were completed at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Yale University.

Martin brings with him experience from both the research and business world. He completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Waterloo and completed further post-doctoral training in microscopy at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning in Toronto. As a researcher, he is passionate about understanding the biochemistry and structural biology of the gut-brain axis. In the business world, Martin has experience in commercialization and intellectual property through positions held as a technology transfer professional and corporate strategist at major institutions across Ontario. As an entrepreneur, he has experience in the neurotechnology, laboratory, and artificial intelligence industries.
